A shared Sheet nobody controls
Separate the data layer from the presentation layer, protect the calculations, and set access so an inserted row cannot break the company's revenue number.

Investor metrics, GCC reporting and Google Sheets built for a team that lives in them. Hire an Excel consultant for a review, a freelancer for a contained build, or a VBA developer to automate a process — all remote, all billed by the hour, and all handed over documented and unlocked.

The local picture
Bengaluru is the one Indian city where we do more Google Sheets work than Excel work. Startups run on Sheets because collaboration matters more than computational power, and the files grow accordingly — a revenue tracker that started as four tabs becomes the operational backbone of the company, shared with thirty people, and nobody is quite sure which tab is live. GCCs have the opposite problem: rigorous process inherited from a global parent, applied to reporting that does not quite fit the local operation.
What we get hired for here
The startup version of this engagement is almost always about a Sheet that has outgrown its structure. Thirty collaborators, no access control, formulas broken by someone inserting a row, and a founder who needs investor-ready numbers out of it by Friday. The work is partly technical — protected ranges, structured references, a proper data layer separated from the presentation layer — and partly about governance, deciding who is allowed to change what. Neither half works without the other.
Separate the data layer from the presentation layer, protect the calculations, and set access so an inserted row cannot break the company's revenue number.
A reproducible metrics layer with written definitions, so the monthly investor update stops being a rebuild.
Bridge the global parent's mandated format and what the India operation actually needs to manage, without maintaining two disconnected sets of numbers.
Typical source data for Bengaluru clients: Stripe, Razorpay or Chargebee exports, HubSpot or Salesforce, Zoho Books or NetSuite, product analytics from Mixpanel or Amplitude, and the Google Sheets the team already lives in.
An illustrative scenario
A composite example built to show method, not a specific client engagement. No client is identified and no outcome is guaranteed.
The company's revenue number lived in a tab that anyone with the link could edit, and had broken twice in a quarter.
We split it: a raw data sheet that only two people can write to, and a reporting sheet that reads from it and is protected end to end.
Formulas move to structured ranges that survive row insertion, and named ranges replace the cell references that kept shifting.
The investor update becomes a view over the reporting layer. Thirty people keep their access to what they need; the revenue number stops moving on its own.
Working together across time zones
Same time zone. Calls happen the same day and work runs in parallel with your team.
For a first conversation, the most useful thing to send is which Sheet the company depends on, how many people can edit it, and what broke last time. You do not need a requirements document, and if the file is sensitive a screen recording works just as well.
The workbook, or a description of what is slow.
Rate, hours and timeline, usually within a day.
Unlocked files, documentation, recorded walkthrough.
Services
All ten service lines are available in Bengaluru. These four come up most often in this market — hire a consultant, a freelancer or a full delivery team, whichever fits.

Ask us something elseYes, and in Bengaluru it is the majority of what we do. Apps Script automation, structured references, protected ranges and access design are all standard work for us — we also run googlesheetsexpert.com, so this is not a sideline.
You can hire a remote Excel expert for your Bengaluru team. We share the same working day and collaborate directly in your files, with screen-sharing calls when useful.
Usually, yes. Google Sheets performance problems are almost always caused by volatile functions, whole-column references and array formulas recalculating unnecessarily. A restructure typically fixes it. If the dataset is genuinely too large for Sheets, we will tell you that instead of optimising something that needs to move to BigQuery.
Yes — the work is mostly about definitions and reproducibility rather than presentation. If the same metric can be recalculated from source data and comes out the same, it is ready. If it depends on a manual adjustment someone remembers, it is not.
Yes. The usual approach is one local dataset that generates both the parent's format and the view the India team actually needs, so you are not maintaining two versions of the truth.
By job title
The same people do all of this. We keep a separate page per specialism for Bengaluru because the work each one generates here genuinely differs — and because the job title you search under changes what you find.
Local or remote
Hiring locally in Bengaluru buys you some things we cannot offer. It is worth being clear about which.
For a workshop, a training session, or a discovery process across several departments, physical presence genuinely helps. We work well over a call, but we will not pretend it is identical.
A local entity, local invoicing, local contract law. For some organisations — public sector especially — that is not negotiable, and no amount of rate advantage changes it.
If a file breaks at 10am and must work by 2pm, somebody in your time zone will usually beat somebody in ours. Our overnight turnaround is an advantage for planned work and a disadvantage for emergencies.
At a consultancy the person who sells the work and the person who writes it are often different people. Here they are the same person, and you have their name.
One local generalist covers whatever they happen to know. A small specialist team covers modelling, VBA, BI and Sheets properly. Which matters more depends entirely on what your file needs.
A local contractor in a major city typically charges several times a remote specialist's hourly rate for output a reviewer could not tell apart. That difference is the whole reason remote delivery exists.
