Yes. Deliverables and IP transfer are set out in the engagement terms, and the code is unlocked and commented. We do not ship password-protected VBA projects — a macro you cannot open is a macro you are locked into.
Within Excel the practical answer is a version log inside the file plus a naming convention that is actually enforced. For genuine version control, the files should live in SharePoint or Google Drive with history enabled — we will set up the discipline, but we will not pretend a spreadsheet is a version control system.
